DESCRIPTION:The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year (BOTY) award will be presented to Ruston Florist and Boutique\, owned by Dennis and Debbie Allen.\n\n \n\nRuston Florist and Boutique\, a family owned and operated business\, has been serving the Ruston area for over 32 years.  The business was recently relocated\, now having a 5\,000 square foot showroom\, featuring women's clothing and accessories\, exquisite home d cor\, bath & body products\, A Baby Boutique and introducing Michael Marcus Cosmetics.  With beautiful flowers\, plants and their outstanding customer service\, it's what keeps customers coming back time and time again. \n\n \n\nNot only has Debbie and her staff won awards and been featured in magazines such as Southern Living\, Flowers&\, and Florists' Review\, they love what they do! When you step to the front door of the shop at 1103 Farmerville Highway you will see the Monday   Saturday store times listed as Hours of Enjoyment. It's safe to say that whether you drop in for a quick pick-up during lunch\, or go to spend hours browsing\, you'll leave with a smile.\n\n \n\nDennis and Debbie employ three full-time and four part-time staff members. Since the move\, the florist has experienced a 130% sales increase. Among the community projects they have already scheduled for 2014\; a blood drive at the shop\, helping Leadership Lincoln "Can Child Hunger" for the summer\, and the week of July 21 they will take flower arrangements to distribute to the residents at Russ House (retirement home) for "Make Someone Smile  Week.\n\n \n\nThe Business of the Year award will be presented on Thursday\, May 8\, 2014 at Squire Creek Country Club during the LA Tech Hall of Fame and Chamber Business of the Year Awards Dinner. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and is sponsored by Community Trust Bank and Hunt\, Guillot & Associates.\n\n \n\nThis awards dinner is co-hosted by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and LA Tech College of Business and is a new event that takes the place of the Business Breakfast from years past. Also being honored that evening are the College of Business Hall of Fame inductees\, James E. Davison and Glen F. Post.
