SUMMARY:Howl'oween Costume Contest and Dog Show
DESCRIPTION:Howl'oween\n\n	Costume Contest and Dog Show\n\n	\n\n	A joint project between Chamber of Commerce and the City of Ruston\n\n	\n\n	\n\n	Event Sponsors:\n\n	Fairfield Inn\n\n	Pettite Paws\n\n	PetStar\n\n	Ruston Animal Clinic\n\n	Sexton Animal Health Center\n\n	Sleep Inn\n\n	Stitchville\n\n	Super1Foods\n\n	____________________________\n\n	Categories include:\n\n	-funniest\n\n	-scariest\n\n	-best dressed pet and person\n\n	(dog and owner's costumes should\n\n	complement each other)\n\n	-most unusual\n\n	\n\n	**All dogs must be on a leash at all times.\n\n	\n\n	\n\n	Here's a few things to remember when dressing your dog for Howl'oween.... \n\n When wearing a costume\, can the dog see and breathe easily? A costume should not interfere with the dogs vision\, hearing or breathing - NO masks. \n\n Check the fit around the costume neckline to make sure it's not too tight. \n\n Watch for chewing\, pawing\, or signs of discomfort while wearing a costume. \n\n If you're making a pet costume\, use a lightweight fabric that won't cause a dog to become over-heated. \n\n Don't put beads\, loose dangling accessories or other small objects on a costume.... nothing that can be chewed and swallowed or be a choking hazard. \n\n A costume should not drag on the floor so that your dog can't walk without stepping on it. \n\n Never leave a dog wearing any kind of costume alone and unatteneded. \n\n If your dog gets nervous and upset and just does not like the idea of being dressed\, forget the costume idea. A simple doggy size cotton t-shirt would be more comfortable. Or... just get a colorful Halloween print collar or bandana instead.
