SUMMARY:Lemonade Day
DESCRIPTION:Lemonade Day\n\nMay 4\, 2016\n\n \n\nIf you're business would like to provide sidewalk space for a stand please contact Cathi Cox-Boniol at ccox@lincolnschools.org or 255-1430\n\n \n\nThe Lincoln Parish School District is gearing up for its 3rd year of the national Lemonade Day Project. Last year\, students within the Lincoln Parish schools were part of 15\,000 young people across Louisiana and more than 1 million nation-wide that participated in this entrepreneurship initiative. This year our students have already developed business plans\, presented them to local lenders at Bank of Ruston\, taken their investment funds and spent them on supplies needed to run their business\, and determined where they will share their profits in service to the community. Then on Wednesday\, May 4\, you will find them located throughout the community during the noon hour selling lemonade as burgeoning entrepreneurs. \n\n \n\nThe Lemonade Day program helps our youth understand that America was built on the back of small business while teaching students about how entrepreneurs take risks yet can realize their dream if they work hard\, take responsibility\, and act as good stewards of their resources. The program was founded by Michael Holthouse in 2007 when he had a vision to empower today's youth to become tomorrow's entrepreneurs through helping them start\, own\, and operate their very own business a lemonade stand. Lemonade Day is a strategic 14-step process that walks youth from a dream to a business plan\, while teaching them the same principles required to start any big company. Inspiring kids to work hard and make a profit\, they are also taught to spend some\, save some\, and share some by giving back to their community. As the program continues to grow it then sparks the spirit of entrepreneurship among more and more youth as they set goals\, work hard\, and achieve their dreams. \n\n \nFor more information about how to get involved\, contact ACHIEVE Coordinator Cathi Cox-Boniol\, ccox@lincolnschools.org or 255-1430.
