SUMMARY:Ruston Community Theatre Presents On Golden Pond
DESCRIPTION:Ruston Community Theatre and sponsor Irrigation-Mart are excited to bring On Golden Pond to the stage at the Dixie Center for the Arts on November 17-19 at 7:00 p.m. and November 21 at 2:00 pm. Dr. Ron Thompson and Dr. Linda Griffin will play the lead parts of Norman and Ethel Thayer. On Golden Pond was first presented off Broadway to great critical and popular acclaim. It is a touching\, funny and warmly perceptive study of a spirited and lovable older couple facing the changes life can throw at each of us as we age. This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer\, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. Norman is a retired professor (Ron is too) with a failing memory and a tart tongue. Ethel\, ten years younger than Norman\, delights in all the small things that have enriched and continue to enrich their long life together. This is a story that explores family relationships\, things in our lives that stay the same and things that change as well as a joy for experiencing all that life has to offer. \n\n\n\nPlease note that the production dates are a departure from RCT?s usual format. The play will open on Wednesday and conclude with the matinee on Sunday\, and there is no Saturday performance. This classic play will provide a delightful\, entertaining event for our community.
