SUMMARY:The Gift of Stress Relief - Art Therapy
DESCRIPTION:The Gift of Stress Relief: Art Therapy is Thursday\, December 12\, 2019 from 7:00 8:30 p.m. at Ruston Artisans\n\n\n\nArt Guide: Pranathi Maramraj-Sharma M.A. MHP ATR\, Healing Beyond Words.\n\n\n\nCost: $45 per person - includes materials\, instruction\, and reception\, reserve your seat online at http://bit.ly/HBW_ArtTherapy\n\n\n\nThe entertaining\, shopping\, high expectations\, crowds\, long lines\, absence of family or social connections\, late night parties\, over-indulgence\, being pulled in many different directions these are only some of the stressors you may face this holiday season. At the end of the season\, you can end up feeling exhausted.\n\n\n\nThere is a solution for holiday stress! Art no matter whether you choose to create it yourself or simply observe and enjoy it is a relaxing and inspiring activity for many people. Creating art can be used to relieve stress and relax your mind and body. Art Therapy involves the use of creative techniques such as drawing\, painting\, collage\, coloring\, or sculpting to enrich the lives of individuals and families by helping people express themselves artistically\, process feelings\, and reduce stress and anxiety. When used with a clinician\, it can even "decode" the nonverbal messages\, symbols\, and metaphors often found in these art forms\, which could lead to a better understanding of feelings and behavior to resolve deeper issues. This holiday season give yourself the gift that engages your mind\, body\, and spirit!\n\n\n\nPranathi is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) in the state of Louisiana\, practicing Clinical Art Therapy in Ruston. Her education and professional background in art therapy gives her a unique and effective approach in her practice. Pranathi's goal as an Art therapist is to facilitate safe creative expression tailored to fit each client's individual needs. Pranathi graduated with a Masters of Arts in Creative Arts Therapy with a focus in Counseling from Hofstra University in Hempstead\, NY. Prior to becoming an Art Therapist\, she worked as a Graphic Designer for an Advertising agency. Pranathi received a Bachelor's in Arts with a focus in Graphic Design from LSU in Shreveport. Although she enjoyed using her artistic skills to create ads for various companies\, she couldn't help but feeling like art could benefit people's lives on a deeper level.\n\n\n\nFor More Information: Call 318-254-3322 or email rustonartisans@gmail.com\n\n\n\nRuston Artisans\n\n203 W.
