2013 Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala
The 2013 Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala hosted by Community Trust Bank will be held Tuesday, February 5th at the Ruston Civic Center. During the event, community awards are presented by various groups. The Ruston Jaycees present their "Young Persons" awards which include the Young Firefighter of the Year, Young Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Young Educator of the Year, and Outstanding Young Person of the Year. The Lincoln Parish School District awards their "Distinguished Partner in Education" each year. The Ruston-Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau will present their annual "Hospitality" awards. The Ruston Rotary Club will honor Jim Tuten as the 2013 "Bill Best Humanitarian Award". The annual "Robert E. Russ" award is presented by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce will be given t Wayne Parker. This year the community will give a special honor to Dr. Dan Reneau, President of Louisiana Tech University who is retiring later this year.
The Gala begins at 6 pm. with a wine-and-cheese social where you can enjoy a musical performance by The Olsen Strings. Dinner will be served at 6:45 pm.
