A cappella barbershop groups from across North Louisiana – from Shreveport to Ruston to Monroe – will perform in "A Cappella Fever" at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Dixie Center for the Arts. The show will be hosted by Ruston's Piney Hills Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines, whose quartet Rhapsody will also perform. Joining them will be River City Jubilee men's chorus of Shreveport and Bayou Blend men's quartet from Monroe. Joel Sharpton, of KPCH radio, will be one of the MCs. A variety of songs is on the program, including contemporary, solid gold rock 'n' roll, and gospel selections. The show will benefit MedCamps of Louisiana. Tickets are available from the Dixie Center weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the door or from chorus members.
