Arts Academy Scenes for Teens
NCLAC’s Arts Academy will hold Scenes for Teens on Monday, February 20. This all-day workshop, taught by Leigh Anne Chambers, will focus on auditions and scene prep work for students ages 13-18. The class will be held from 8:30am – 3:30pm on the President’s Day school holiday. The cost for the workshop is $35 for NCLAC members, $45 for non-members. All supplies and a snack will be provided, but each participant should bring a sack lunch. The instructor, Leigh Anne Chambers, is NCLAC’s Executive Director and a Theatre Educator. She will guide students in the skills needed to get their foot in the stage door. The class will be held at the Dixie Center for the Arts at 212 North Vienna in Ruston. NCLAC seeks to enrich the region by fostering opportunities for creative expression, and Arts Academy classes are part of its MARK programming, Making Art Reach Kids.
The North Central Louisiana Arts Council is supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts council. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency.
