Cajun Country Christmas with the Landry's

There are few things that get the heart into the spirit like Christmas music, and that only gets more fun when you add a Cajun twist. We doing just that with Wade Benson Landry and Teresa Bowe Landry as they bring their Cajun joie de vivre to the Lincoln Parish Library on Tuesday, December 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Events Center. This event is free and open to the public, so be sure to bring the whole family as we laugh, dance, and get in a Cajun mood. Wade Benson Landry and his wife Teresa Bowe Landry are the well-known duo that performs ?The Gumbo Show? at Branson Central Theatre in Branson, MO. Both performers have been inducted into America?s Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame by the National Traditional Country Music Association, and the quality and fun of their performances more than prove they are deserving of this recognition. Wade Benson Landry started out playing druns, fiddle, and guitar and singing in Abbeville, LA, eventually gaining the title of Louisiana State Fiddle Champion and moving on to Nashville, TN. There he learned to play a wide variety of country styles while working with many country favorites, such as Tammy Wynette, George Jones, and Mel Tillis. He has since toured the world and made television appearances on shows like The Tonight Show and Cajun Pawn Stars. Teresa Bowe Landry also has a heavy touring schedule that takes her around the world, where she has performed for Willie Nelson?s Farm Aid, John Cougar Mellancamp, TNN?s Be a Star, where she was a finalist, and for Presidents George H. W. and George W. Bush. Together, the Landry duo performs a mix of Cajun, Western Swing, Traditional Country, and Gospel music that will keep your toes tapping.
