Get Your Biz Fit - Kate Theriot and Lisa Duncan

This is one of several topics being discussed during the Lighten Up Lincoln Parish Community Expo and Wellness Conference.  The entire Expo and Conference is devoted to healthy living.  The schedule is arranged so that you can come to hear a specific speaker or you can stay and hear them all.  There is a business and health expo set up from 8 am - 5 pm that will allow you time to visit in between speakers.

Absenteeism costs U.S. Companies billions of dollars each year in lost productivity, wages, and poor quality of work.  In addition, the burden often falls to those employees that are there.  Presenteeism is estimated to surpass $180B annually.  According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, American businesses lose more than 2.8m work days each year.  This session will provide suggestions to reduce losses by improving business wellness.

Kate Theriot is with the Louisiana Business Group on Health, an organization consisting of stakeholders whose focus is to develop and sustain the quality and value of health care in LA by providing worksites with strategies that have been proven to be effective.

Lisa Duncan is the Wellness Coordinator for Community Trust Bank and will share her experience with developing and implementing a program.
