The LSBDC at ULM and the Louisiana Secretary of State are offering FREE GeauxBIZ workshops that will educate attendees on how to register their business with the Secretary of State, and in a two-hour setting a presenter will address common issues and challenges in the waiting process. GeauxBIZ allows entrepreneurs the ability to complete the necessary legal documents to start a business, register for a tax revenue number and apply for an unemployment insurance tax account number.
The workshops will also specifically inform the attendees how to reserve a business name, create a checklist of federal, state and local licenses and permits, file with the Secretary of State, Department of Revenue, and Louisiana Workforce Commission, apply for unemployment insurance, and find other resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
