Hook a Kid On Golf - Tee Level Clinic
The ever popular Hook a Kid on Golf, sponsored by Ruston Parks and Recreation, returns this summer as a much demanded youth program. This year, Hook a Kid on Golf Tee Level Clinic will be June 6 through June 10, 2016.
The cost is $155 for residents of Ruston and $167 for non-residents and space is limited. Price includes a set of golf clubs.
Hook a Kid on Golf – a nationally-recognized and award-winning activity – is aimed at youngsters who normally would not have the opportunity to learn to play the sport of golf.
“We are excited about the opportunity to host this program again this year,” said Ashlynn Shell, recreation supervisor. “Most youngsters have unlimited opportunities to play sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer and football, but only a few get the chance to learn about golf. This is a great opportunity for local youths to swing a golf club under professional guidance”
Young players, who register before the May 6, 2016 deadline will receive and keep a starter set of golf clubs, golf bag, a golf shirt, golf balls and a golf hat.
Designed for ages 8 to 15, this clinic covers all aspects of introductory golf from rules and etiquette to swinging putting and chipping instruction. Boy and girl novices are encouraged to enroll now. The five-day program is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday.
The registration deadline for the program is Friday, May 6 at 5:00 PM.
