Introduction to Crocheting (Pot Holders and Dish Cloth)
The Beginning Crochet class teaches familiarity with types of yarn, reading yarn labels, needles and sizes. Basic crochet skills are taught and practiced. The student will learn chain stitch, slip stitch, single, half-double, double, and triple crochet stitches, and how to turn, change yarns, and finish their work. Upon the completion of the course, the student will have created their own pot holder or dish rag.
Supplies needed: 1 Long crochet hook (size 6 or F), 1 Short crochet hook (size J), 4 Skins of cotton thread, 1 pair of scissors, 1 12inch ruler, 1 package of yarn needles.
