La Peach Festival Peach Cookery Contest

Pies, tarts, salads, cakes, and even main dishes. Adult and youth divisions. First-place adult entry wins a two-night stay at the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans, compliments of Louisiana Life magazine!

  The contest will be held on Friday, June 27th at the Presbyterian Church of Ruston.  Judging will begin at 10 a.m. and the winners will be announced by 12:00 p.m. Entries must be removed by 1:00 p.m. Dishes and containers not picked up at this time will be disposed of. 
 
 Preregistration will be held until June 21st at 3:00 p.m. Entry Fee is $6.00 per entry/per category until 
June 21st; afterward, the Entry Fee is $10.00. All Entry Fees are NONREFUNDABLE. 
 
 Two copies of the recipe written or typed on a 4x6 recipe card must accompany the prepared dish. 
Write contestant’s name, address, and telephone number on the back of the recipe. State type of peaches used, if known. 
 
 Prepared dish and recipes will ONLY be accepted on Friday, June 27th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. 
(No entries will be accepted after 10 a.m. so judging can begin promptly.) NO REFRIGERATION WILL 
BE PROVIDED. 
 
 Judging will be based on taste, texture, appearance, peach flavor, and creativity. 
 
 Anyone may enter as many dishes as they wish in any given category; however each dish entered must be prepared by the person whose name it is entered. 
 
 Any type of peaches may be used. 
 
 There should be approximately four servings in each dish.
