Leadership Lincoln Class 2014-2015
Leadership Lincoln encourages our participants to ask the questions “why” and “how” as we look at all facets of our community and region. Our goal is to help the participants acquire a better knowledge of the community’s strengths and challenges. Leadership Lincoln’s mission is quite simple… to develop the leadership skills and qualities within our students so they will become well-rounded leaders in their workplace, their church, a civic organization and/or local government.
Leadership Lincoln helps identify and motivate emerging community leaders, and challenges those leaders to increase their participation in the community.
Our monthly sessions include looks at social services & health-care, education, tourism, government, economic development, cultural diversity, criminal justice, local industry, and media. Sessions may include “on site” tours. In May, participants will travel to Baton Rouge to participate in Northern Exposure and tour the state capital. All leadership students must attend 80% of the classes during the ten months of Leadership Lincoln. This is important... there are no exceptions to this rule.
Who can apply? Any individual living or working within North Central Louisiana can apply or nominate a person from their town. Then an anonymous Leadership Admissions Committee selects class participants from the applications.
And the benefits? Our participants network with local, regional and state officials. They meet leaders of local business & industry, and they build personal business relationships that can last a lifetime. Our communities benefit by gaining a cadre of potential leaders.
