Lemonade stands will pop up in Ruston, Saturday, April 30, 2016. Several of Ruston’s youth will take part in Lemonade Day, a citywide event designed to introduce the next generation of business executives to the world of successful business practices and make them some spending money.
Coordinated by Ms. Rebecca Deich of the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home, Lemonade Day teaches children how to start, own, and operate their own lemonade businesses while developing life skills, good character, and entrepreneurship. Louisiana Lemonade Day sponsor, Raising Canes, provides the new executive with an information-filled “Entrepreneur’s Workbook”, which, when used in conjunction with internet tutorials and the help of a responsible adult, will teach participating children about budgets, investment, advertising, and principles of making money. Children will also learn character-building lessons in customer service, saving money, community service and philanthropy. Our youth have chosen Life Choices, a local charity to donate a portion of the proceeds to.
Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home is a 501-c(3) organization dedicated to preparing our youth for life through fun, and proactive programs infused with life skills, character education, and, of course, entrepreneurship.
