Oleanna
B&B Theatre in partnership with the North Central Louisiana Arts Council announces the production of David Mamet's Oleanna, a provocative drama about a university student and her professor who she accuses of sexual harassment. Critics have called Mamet's drama a tough and “unflinching play” with an ending that chills the audience “like dramatic ice.” The female student will be played by actress and
Stitchville owner Allie Bennett, and the male professor will be played by Paul Crook, a performing arts professor at Louisiana Tech.
Performances of Oleanna will be held at 7:30 pm from September 3-5 in the Norton Building, located at 207 W Mississippi Ave in downtown Ruston. Half the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to DART. In addition, “talk-back” sessions will be held after the performances in which the audience will be welcome to stay and discuss their feelings about the play and the topic of sexual harassment. Call the NCLAC office, located in the Dixie Center for the Arts, at 255-1450 to purchase your $10 tickets.
