With Louisiana’s recovery from COVID-19 in full swing and over 1.6 million residents now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, LWC is partnering with employers across the state to reenergize the workforce. LWC never stopped putting people to work, but we noticed a drastic shift in how we do business when the COVID-19 pandemic began. Our attention had to be directed toward helping thousands of you get the benefits you need to support your family as quickly as possible. Nearly a year and a half later, enhanced unemployment benefits are coming to an end on July 31, employers are searching for reliable employees, and many of you are in search of a new fulfilling and family-sustaining career. The goal of the “Back to Work Louisiana” campaign is to help our economy rebound by connecting you with the job you need to keep a roof over your heads and put food on the table for your family. There are thousands of opportunities out there for all types of industries, and we’ll be spotlighting many of them. Businesses are looking to hire and hire fast, and in addition to the job fairs we host on a regular basis, we will also be hosting large in-person job fairs in every major area of the state on August 4 featuring hundreds of employers from across the state. (Further details forthcoming) So let’s get back to work, Louisiana, and help our state get its sunshine back!
