Ruston Christmas Parade
2021 Ruston Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade
Date: Saturday, December 11, 2021, 6 p.m.
Grand Marshal: Cathi Cox-Boniol
Theme: All Things Christmas
The 2021 theme is “All Things Christmas!” After being cancelled last year due to COVID restrictions, it was decided that the 2021 parade would not have a specific theme,” said Judy Copeland, Chamber President. “It has been a trying year and a half and whatever Christmas theme makes each group of participants happy and excited in bringing back this traditional community event seems like the way to go.”
Serving as the Grand Marshal will be Cathi Cox-Boniol, the 2020 recipient of the Robert E. Russ Award, the most prestigious civic honor to be obtained by a Lincoln Parish Citizen. From teaching at Choudrant High School, to her multifaceted role with the Lincoln Parish School District, to initiating the local STEM programs, to founding the award-winning New Tech @ Ruston, and much more, it’s easy to see why this lady has been so beneficial to this community.
Floats will be staged in the Louisiana Tech athletics area. The parade will begin by turning left on Alabama Avenue. It will then travel to Trenton Street and turn right, going through downtown, proceeding right onto Louisiana Avenue. For those who would like to spread out more, south of the railroad tracks on Trenton Street or on West Louisiana Avenue is recommended for watching. Parents, please ensure that children safely remain out of the street.
The Ruston Christmas parade is coordinated by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
