Tackling the Top Five Diagnoses - Dr. Raoult Ratard -

This is one of several topics being discussed during the Lighten Up Lincoln Parish Community Expo and Wellness Conference.  The entire Expo and Conference is devoted to healthy living.  The schedule is arranged so that you can come to hear a specific speaker or you can stay and hear them all.  There is a business and health expo set up from 8 am - 5 pm that will allow you time to visit in between speakers. 

The Health Hut's top five diagnoses are hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity and tobacco use disorder.  Lifestyle and weight can play a major role in each of these diagnoses.  In fact, sadly, the CDC has recently identified Louisiana as being the most obese State in the nation.  Dr. Raoult Ratard will show how these conditions conspire together to ruin your health and eventually your life, and provide options for improved health.  Dr. Ratard is presently the Louisiana State Epidemiologist.  With an MD from the University of Paris Medical School, an MS in Parasitology from LSU, and an MPH & TM from Tulane, he has worked 41 years in public health, mostly in communicable disease control programs.  He is also an adjunct instructor at LSU in New Orleans.
