The Hampstead Stage Company presents Robin Hood

The Lincoln Parish Library is excited to announce the return of the Hampstead Stage Company during our 2015 Summer Reading Program. Our friends from the Hampstead Stage Company will be presenting a performance of the magical folktale of Robin Hood on Tuesday, June 30 @ 6:00 pm in the Library Events Center. Children of all ages are invited to enjoy this story of wonder, and since it's free and open to the public, you can bring the whole family! The Hampstead Stage Company will present the adventurous tale of Robin Hood, the classic English folktale, chronicling the life and adventures of the infamous outlaw with a heart of gold. Follow Robin as he wages an ongoing war against the oppressive tyrant Prince John, while befriending the residents of Sherwood Forest and making mischief with his Band of Merrie Men. The play is an action-packed hour, filled with brave heroics, bumbling villains, and heartwarming moments. Join our hero as he robs from the rich to give to the poor and teaches greedy Prince John a lesson or two. This play is a fun family event for all ages. The Hampstead family began its mission to bring education theater experiences to audiences around the country 30 years ago. Since its inception, their company has grown into one of the largest educational touring companies in the nation. Over the years, they have played for about twenty million audience members, performing over two thousand shows a year in all 48 contiguous states. Their interactive educational tours run year-round and are performed by two professional actors, each playing multiple roles. The scripts are original adaptations, based directly on literary classics, and they include children and adults from the audience. The plays last one hour, with a question and answer session following the performance. They also bring their own realistic sets and costumes, designed using extensive historical research, to enrich the educational experience.
