The Heart of Christmas

The combined choirs and orchestras of Calvary Baptist and Cook Baptist Churches in Ruston invite the community to experience The Heart of Christmas, a choral presentation which will be held at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center on December 11, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. This inspiring musical appeals to people of all ages. There will also be a reception afterwards with complimentary, family-friendly Christmas treats to eat and drink. This event is free of charge and open to the public. These two churches have a vision that by joining forces, the combined resources allow our community to experience something that neither church could do individually. The choir and an orchestra will bring to life The Heart of Christmas by Phil Barfoot. This inspiring and gorgeous Christmas-themed collection features eleven songs about the "reason for the season," a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Between pieces, the group is also offering scripture reading, personal testimony, and a heart-felt message from one of the pastors of these churches. This presentation is offered as a fun, family-friendly way to join together as a larger community and celebrate together, so everyone is invited to attend and enjoy.
