Whataburger Celebrates the Opening of First Ruston Location
RUSTON, La. – May 14, 2013 – Whataburger Restaurants, known for custom-made, always-fresh burgers, will host a grand opening celebration on Tuesday, May 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at its newest location at 801 North Service Road E in Ruston.
Whataburger will host an evening of games and giveaways, including its popular “Whataburger for a Year” drawing, where one customer’s name will be drawn to win the prize – a free Whataburger each week for an entire year. The National Champion cheerleading squad from Ruston High School will host a face painting booth for kids, and radio station Big Z-Country 107.5, Whataburger mascot Whataguy and other entertainment will also be onsite to provide fun for the whole family.
“Whataburger is proud to have been in Louisiana for the past 44 years and we’re very excited about serving the Ruston community,” said Whataburger Director of Operations Robert Ortner. “We have grown to more than 740 locations since our beginning in 1950, but we still think of ourselves as the hometown burger place and look forward to meeting all our new neighbors in Ruston and surrounding communities.”
Family-owned Whataburger has proudly served its famous burgers in Louisiana since 1969 and continues to deliver fresh, made-to-order meals everyday with extraordinary customer service. Headquartered in San Antonio, Whataburger has successfully expanded from a single burger stand in 1950 to a thriving family of more than 740 restaurants across 10 states today.
Whataburger also believes in giving back to the communities that it calls home. For that reason, Whataburger announced a $500 donation to the Christian Community Action in celebration of the opening.
In addition to lunch and dinner, the 24-hour restaurants are a popular destination for late night dining and breakfast.
