Market Assistant - Ruston Farmers Market

North Louisiana Farm Fresh, which operates the Ruston Farmers Market, is hiring a Market Assistant to work on Saturdays, and mid-week markets and events as needed.

The Market Assistant is an independent contractor who aids in the smooth operation of Ruston Farmers Market (RFM) every week. He or she will manage the operation of a farmers market including management of the facility or space, supplies, new programs, and oversight.  He or She performs duties under the general direction of the Market Coordinator and the Officers of North Louisiana Farm Fresh (NLFF), the nonprofit that manages the market.
Required hours are Saturdays from 7:00 am – 2:00 pm, some Thursdays 4pm-9pm, and all other work is completed at the discretion of the coordinator.  Weekly hours range from 7-15 hours a week, averaging 10 hours a week. 

An ideal candidate for the position will:

• Have reliable transportation to and from the RFM building
• Be highly organized and dependable
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Be able to make decisions and solve problems independently
• Compile basic financial information using Excel and google workspace.
• Maintain a positive and respectful working relationship with the Market Coordinator, vendors, the board, volunteers, and customers
• Produce market data reports as required for North Louisiana Farm Fresh Board
