Costly Health Habits - The Great American Smokeout - Derrence Nichols
This is one of several topics being discussed during the Lighten Up Lincoln Parish Community Expo and Wellness Conference. The entire Expo and Conference is devoted to healthy living. The schedule is arranged so that you can come to hear a specific speaker or you can stay and hear them all. There is a business and health expo set up from 8 am - 5 pm that will allow you time to visit in between speakers.
Tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the U.S., yet more than 45 million Americans still use it. Death, disease, and disability as a result of tobacco impacts smokers who pay $35 in health-related costs per pack of cigarettes and society to pay $193 billion in tobacco-related health costs and productivity loss in the U.S. Join us to learn the effects of tobacco, how to quit, and how you can support a loved one who needs to quit.
Derrance Nichols is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and is the Director of Respiratory Care/Sleep Center at Northern Louisiana Medical Center. Come hear Derrance speak on the impacts of tobacco usage to your business.
