NCLAC Arts Academy presents its first “writing skills” workshop, facilitated by Russell Pirkle. Pirkle is an English MFA candidate at Louisiana Tech University, and a graduate of LA Tech’s Studio Art program.
The Book Review is a reading and writing workshop where participants each read a different recently published teen fiction book, then discuss and write a review that will be published in the Ruston Daily Leader. Reading concepts including evaluation, interpretation, genre and style will be addressed, as will writing skills such as pre-writing, rhetorical devices, and audience consideration.
The class is open to high school students.
